Dental implants are titanium posts (which are accepted by the body). It is surgically placed in the jawbone beneath the gum line. This allows the Dentist to place a dental prosthesis to replace missing teeth.
The healing time after an implant was placed, is approximately 12-16 weeks – whereafter crowns or bridges on the implants will replace the missing teeth.
To have implants you need to have healthy gums and good oral hygiene. It is important to have the implants checked every six months and a cleaning done by the Oral Hygienist frequently.
